Happy New Year!

Hi everyone, late as it may be... I'd like to take the opportunity to wish you a very happy new year!

Trust me, the dawn of 2021 did not feel like confetti and celebration but the year came in more as a collective sigh for most people. "At last 2020 was over"

2020 was a strange year for a lot of people in various ways. I came across people who had beautiful blessings in 2020. People got new jobs, got their lives turned around, welcomed new babies, got married, bought new homes, it was a year of growth. For some, it was a year of just trying to survive, for others it was the year that would have been best left forgotten due to several reasons: loss of jobs, loss of loved ones, loss of financial income, lost opportunities, mental health struggles, health challenges, there are so many ways that 2020 was a difficult year for some it beggars belief.

As I look across everyone's experiences from 2020, what I saw consistently was character building and adjustments, in various forms. Whether from good experiences or from bad experiences, there were definitely character-building experiences. Either to be thankful, to be kinder, or more emphatic with individuals around us, becoming more financially prudent, more resilient, and learning how best to adjust when things don't go the way we want and also adjusting to life when things DO actually go the way we want: i.e learning how to be a parent, learning new skills in a new job, learning how to manage a new home.

It is my very fervent hope that 2021 will be a much better year for us all, especially with the pandemic and it is my wish for you that you pay attention to the little joys in the day to day that may seem like nothing is happening. It could be as simple as getting a good night's rest or catching up with a long-time friend. Whatever makes you happy. I hope that in 2021 you find what gives you happiness, independent of other people around you and circumstances you may find yourself in (especially if they are unfavorable)

With the warmest wishes

Bukola
